In 1998 Walters & Cohen began design work on the fit-out of a new Holmes Place health club located in an existing office building just off the Holloway Road in Islington.
The club occupies two and a half floors and has two studios, including cardio and resistance gyms, changing rooms, sunbed, sauna and steam room. There is no ‘brand’ to the Holmes Place health clubs and each targets its own specific local market. The Islington club is designed to appeal to a younger clientele and has been finished in bright colours. The open clubroom is the centre of activity and features a backlit coloured glass wall that leads to the main staircase linking the various levels of the health club.
The club opened in August 2000 and received an Access Award from Islington Council in 2002.
