We’ve always cared about wellbeing, but designing Vajrasana Buddhist Retreat Centre took our understanding to a new level; lessons learnt from that project still influence how we approach all our projects today. It is not expensive to design spaces that lift the spirits and make people happy, but it takes great attention to detail and listening skills to come up with something that really works.
Architects are often proud of their competition entries, even when they don’t win, because so much thought and energy goes into them. Here are a couple of examples of ones that got away, but taught us valuable lessons in wellbeing.
