As part of our masterplan for Wycombe Abbey, we spotted an opportunity to upgrade the arrival sequence with improved security and a more welcoming first impression.
The new Custodians' Lodge announces itself as the gateway to the school. A flint facade to the main Custodian's office complements the boundary wall, but the majority of the building is a lightweight counterpoint of timber and glazing. While it looks delicate and modest, the building provides ample storage for deliveries, a clear and secure entrance for vehicles and pedestrians, and plenty of space for the Custodians to manage pupil, staff and visitors' needs.
New landscape brings the parkland character closer to the entrance, offering peaceful views towards the Abbey.
