Filiz Erol

Architect

Filiz was born in Istanbul and moved to London as a child. She studied architecture at the University of Westminster, graduating with a first class honours degree, and completed her Part 2 at London Metropolitan University in the Architecture of Rapid Change and Scarce Resources Unit. In her final year, Filiz designed a large piece of street furniture that was one of eight produced for the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games as part of the GLA-funded ‘City Dressing’ project. She completed her Part 3 at the University of Greenwich in 2018.

Filiz had been a pupil at Regent High School and found out about Walters & Cohen through our project there. She joined the office in July 2013 to work on several projects, including St Paul’s School, Plashet School and Vajrasana. Filiz has a keen eye for detail so her talents are also put to good use in the production of intricate study models, CGIs, sketches, photography and films for projects and competitions.

In 2019, Filiz was one of four lucky people chosen for mentorship by Jim Stephenson, a well respected architectural photographer and film-maker.
